LTI (London Taxis International)

LTILTI Vehicles (LTI) is Britain's premier manufacturer of the world-famous purpose built London taxi, with more than 100,000 taxis having rolled off our Coventry production line since 1948.  LTI is also the largest wholly British owned car manufacturer producing around 2,700 vehicles per annum.

The latest model is the TX4, launched in Oct 2006, which features a Euro IV-compliant VM Motori R 425 DOHC diesel engine. The TX4 retains the distinctive appearance and all the key safety and accessibility features of its predecessor, the TXII.  The TX4 has an abundance of new features such as driver and passenger head restraints, anti-locking brakes, a new retro exterior and enhanced interior styling.

The TX4 is:

  • Safe and secure for drivers and passengers
  • Recognisable as a taxi
  • Accessible for all passengers
  • Durable and reliable

LTI employs over 400 staff and has 10 main dealers and approximately 60 service agents across the UK. Our network is supported by London Taxi Parts.

Distribution of the London Taxi in the United States and Mexico is managed by LTNA (London Taxis of North America).

LTI's Product Values

To produce a taxi that:

  • Provides a secure and safe environment for drivers and passengers
  • Is environmentally friendly with low emissions and made from recyclable materials where possible
  • Is easily recognisable based on the famous shape of the traditional London taxi
  • Is fully accessible and integrated with other forms of public transport
  • Offers the best facilities, utility and comfort for drivers and passengers
  • Is cost efficient, durable and retains value for regular renewal

LTI's Corporate Values

To promote sustainable products that benefit shareholders and stakeholders alike.

LTI believes in:

  • Job security, and family friendly policies for our workforce
  • Reduction of emissions, and the use of recyclable materials wherever possible
  • Corporate responsibility - so we support stakeholder communities - taxi drivers and customers including disabled people; older people and people travelling alone at night
  • Equal opportunities and social inclusion
